What a year! 2023: Our year wrapped up

Wow! 2023 has certainly been a whirlwind of 12 months. Mark and I can’t believe how much we have crammed into one year.

It certainly has been one of our craziest years to date both in life and business and we are both looking forward to having a rest over Christmas.

Collage of images from January including a Christmas photoshoot and Top Drawer trade show

2023 started with a bang with a photoshoot for our Christmas Widdop gift and homeware collection. Extending the Christmas vibes with colourful trees and table settings at the amazing @thehouseupstairs. We then went straight into trade show mode with our DIY and paint brush skills setting up our brightest stand to date. Where we won another Paper Award for our 3D collection ‘Keepsakes’.

This month was a super busy month with lots of orders leaving the warehouse and being sent around the world. It was also our second show of the year in Birmingham where we showcased our Christmas Widdop line to trade for a little sneak peek before it launched later in the year.

This month was busy with GCA commitments heading into London for meetings with the council team. Mia and I were back to the planning and designing for all of the Summer launches. With a tonne of stationery adding to the offering there was lots of trialing and prototyping for each product. Mark also headed into the GCA Dragons Den to pitch to lots of retail owners and buyers.

Spreading joy with lots of our cards going into the wild!

Was a super busy one in the warehouse with so many new products arriving and our largest order leaving the warehouse to date. Fae also headed from London to shoot for our Summer launch with lots of colourful I was also finalising the gift bag and wrap collection for Penny Kennedy which was a dreamy brief to work on.

Was an exciting one with seeing the first samples arrive of our Widdop Everyday homeware and gift range. Then our rainbow colourful stand at PG Live where the Widdop Christmas officially launched to trade.

Was a sunny one with the team getting together for our Summer party and strategy meeting. Being shortlisted in four categories for the Henries Awards. Attending the fabulous Retas and celebrating all of the amazing UK retail sorted around the country.

Back into designing with getting everything started for our January 2024 launches, there were lots of drawings, doodles, painting and mood boards created. A busy month for our stationery with lots of stores getting ready for the back to school period.

Again a busy one with the continued designing for 2024. Starting our Wednesday Walks with the team. Heading up to Leeds for a fabulous GCA AGM and then turning the big 40 and celebrating with the best group of friends and family for a gleaming weekend.

Wearing our sparkly outfits an absolute highlight was winning a Henries Award for our children’s collection. Also prepping everything for the January photoshoot.

Lots of fun with making props and setting up parties in the warehouse that both ophelia and Reuben loved! Reuben had devoured three mini cupcakes before any shot was taken!

Bringing in the festive cheer with spreading joy with our Caring at Christmas and going into three different care homes to help the residents write their Christmas cards. Doing our first Leamington fair while juggling the two kids and serving customers was a little frantic! Haha! Ending the year on a high with interviews and looking for the next RB team member.
As we head into our 10th year of business we can’t thank everyone enough, from the bottom of our heart all the support in our business really means so much. We are super excited to see what the next year has in store for Raspberry Blossom. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration! Cheers!
